Avon welcomed select beauty influencers to an exclusive tour of Avon City, an experiential expo during the annual Sales Leaders Congress and National Sales Convention. Held last May 18 at SMX Convention Center, Avon City showcased the brand’s bestselling products, highlighting fragrance, makeup, personal care, intimate apparel, jewelry and watches, and home and kids essentials. I’ve been to a lot of expos, and Avon City definitely had some awesome booths. Check them out!
But first, my #OOTD notes. I went for simple and comfy in a flea market floral dress, Topshop mary jane clogs with socks, and a Forever 21 crossbody purse.
We started off with brunch at Plank inside Baker & Cook in S’Maison.
Plank’s Simply Scrambled Egg with Bacon.
Bacon Eggs Benedict at Plank. Yum!
The Avon City tour
Our first stop inside Avon City was Avon Fashions Loungerie. Guests consulted with the booth’s specialists to take their bra measurements and recommend a cute piece from the Curvy, Hourglass, or Petite Collections of Avon Intimate Apparel.
Next up was Avon City’s Fragrance Be Arcade. A giant dance floor and Just Dance screen were set up, for willing guests to have fun and bust out their moves.
To keep everybody fresh, around the booth were bottles of Avon fragrances. This pillar featured four of Avon’s Be Spritz collection: Be Adventurous, Be Cool, Be Glamorous, and Be Rockin’.
There was also a charming little wagon carrying other fragrance spritz collections: Beautiful Escape (Chic in the City, Green Tranquility, and Pleasing Paradise), Sheer Passion (Simply Tempting, So Alluring, and Very Captivating), and the men’s line Avon Intense (Heartbeat, Spark, and Thrill).
Why “Best Sets Ever?” Avon rolled out three pairs of beauty must-haves at a discounted price. Get The Big Beauty set (Avon Care lotion + One Great Mascara) for P289, The Best of the Best set (Skin So Soft Hand & Body Lotion + Avon True Color Perfectly Matte lipstick) for P299, or The Brightest & Boldest set (Avon Naturals lotion + Simply Pretty Color Magic lipstick) for P189.
Avon City market
From the theater, we moved to Avon City’s Home & Kids Market, showcasing Avon’s living and wellness merchandise. Guests were given cotton candy, a portable peeler and grater set and ring exerciser. I didn’t even know they carried Home & Kids products now!
Just take a moment to admire Avon City’s setup and this old-timey wheelbarrow for kitchenware. Can you say “Add to cart?”
Also on display were the newest schoolbags and stationery at the Kids’ Club zone. I spent a summer in my grade school years as a little Avon seller, and these weren’t being sold back then. I would have made so much money. Haha.
Avon City’s confections
On to our next and sweetest stop, the Jewelry Chocolaterie. Here with fellow bloggers Kat Valdez, Alyssa Lapid, and Shen Cala-or and our cotton candies!
I’ve always liked Avon Jewelry & Accessories, but to see them on display alongside actual chocolates here in Avon City? I felt like a kid in a candy store.
Avon Accessories Cake Shop was right next door. It’s this pretty pink place of candy-colored and cupcake chairs, actual cupcakes, and adorable pieces from Avon Fashion’s bag line.
I really think the Chocolaterie and Cakeshop were genius—the concept of mixing sweet treats with accessories that look good enough to eat, might actually work in a real boutique.
Fellow bloggers Bestie Konisis, Liz Lanuzo, Kas Perez, and Shen (plus Kat and Alyssa in the background!)
Proof that Avon City was well-planned: the next stop after sampling those sweets was the refreshing Avon SkinCare Juice Bar.
Avon City picnic
Finally, we headed to the Simply Pretty Picnic Park to unwind. I wanted to take this bicycle home, flowers and all!
Some of the products from Avon‘s Simply Pretty collection. With teen queen Kathryn Bernardo as the endorser, the products are perfect for young Filipinas who are just starting to learn makeup (I made a very easy day-to-night tutorial here).
I don’t know about you, but this debutante-esque set kinda makes me wish I had one in my backyard—or better yet, bedroom!
On the picnic benches were mirrors and cutlery trays filled with Simply Pretty products. The girls had a blast trying them on.
The “picnic grounds” also had these mirrors that hung from the ceilings. The tea sets on the coffee tables contained makeup testers for guests.
All roads lead to Avon City
I’m honored to have taken part in the Avon City tour. It was so cool that Avon made it experiential. In lieu of brochures and an AVP on loop, each booth’s theme effectively presented the products while allowing participants to try them. For a brand that’s over 130 years old, Avon remains at the forefront of beauty by constantly innovating.
One thing I really appreciate is that Avon empowers thousands of Filipinas to pursue their passions. I was only an Avon girl for a few months as a kid, but not only did I have fun, I also learned the value of earning money and working hard. What more for sales representatives who have this as their source of income? I can only imagine the impact Avon has had on their lives. It’s beauty for a purpose. No wonder Avon is the Philippines’ top direct-selling beauty company.
Thanks to Sheng, Louise, and the rest of the Avon team for having me!
